The annual three-day recording sessions at Denon-Columbia Studio, in Akasaka, were one of the two major off-campus music department events of the school year (the other being the annual Spring tour to a Japanese city, e.g. Shimoda, Atami). Each year, beginning back in 1968, the ASIJ Concert Band, the Stage Band, ASIJ Chorus, and the ASIJ Singers released an LP titled “Instruments & Voices” with sales helping to fund the subsequent tour later in the school year.
